Arrival and Departure
Please plan to arrive in the Ann Arbor area by 5 pm on July 11, 2024
and depart after 11:30 am on Sunday, July 14 in order to participate in all conference activities. A conference program will be posted on the website in late May.
Lodging and Meals
Graduate student participants in the Black Graduate Conference in Psychology (BGCP) will be staying in the Sheraton Ann Arbor. Participants’ room and lodging will be covered by the cost of the conference registration. All other incidental expenses will need to be covered by the participants. Participants will receive an email from the conference with information about the hotel and conference registration procedures, their roommate, and the date and time of their presentation. Student participants should plan to check into the hotel between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm on July 11th. Conference registration will also occur at the Sheraton between 3:00 pm and 6:00pm. The conference opening (including dinner will begin at 6:00pm) in the Sheraton. Conference activities on July 12 and 13 will be held on the fourth floor of The Horace H. Rackham Graduate School Building. There will be free bus transportation to/from the hotel to the Rackham Building daily. All events on the morning of July 14 will occur in the Sheraton. Conference activities will conclude by 11:30am and participants will need to check out of the hotel by noon.
Meals will be provided throughout the conference. We have worked to take into consideration the diversity of dietary needs and desires.
Transportation to/from Metro Airport
The closest airport to the University of Michigan is Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. The Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel is approximately 25 miles from Detroit Metro Airport. Various options for transportation to/from DTW and Ann Arbor can be found here. The hotel recommends Golden Limousine ($50 each way). Reservations are needed.
Attire and Weather
Dress for the conference is business casual. The average daily temperature in Ann Arbor is 79F and nightly temperature is 65F in July. You may wish to bring a light jacket or sweater to compensate for air conditioning.
